This Natural Edge bowl made of local, native Mountain Mahogany is my first attempt to create a larger sculpture with this species. The wood is extremely dense with a wicked tendency to crack as it dries, although the cracking doesn't seem to weaken its structure. This bowl is 5¾" in diameter and 3" tall.
