Segmented Turning is a process based on creating rings by gluing small pieces of wood together, then stacking and gluing those rings to form a block. This diverges from the traditional medium of a woodturner, the single chunk of wood. However, by designing and building a segmented block, a woodturner is freed from the size, color, and shape constrictions that single chunks of wood present on the lathe. With segmented turning, the only design limitation is the artist’s imagination!

All of the projects in this category are finished with natural polyurethane, to showcase the unaltered colors and grain of the woods.
