This beautiful vase is made of maple, ebony, and mahogany, and has a removable insert for use as a water-tight flower vase. It is 8½" in diameter, 12" tall, and contains 201 individual pieces, including a couple of insect trails for added interest!

I have been drawn to the idea of creating functional flower vases, but until I learned the Segmented Turning process I was unable to find pieces of wood large enough to work with. Sally and I have kept this vase, my first segmented project, filled with flowers from the moment I completed it.
