Elise's parents came to me with a gorgeous piece of curly maple. Our mutual friend and my woodturning mentor, Ron Borst, was going to make a Salt & Pepper Grinder set for Elise and Bobby's wedding present. Sadly, Ron passed away before he had the chance to make the set, and I was chosen to complete the project. There was enough wood left over to make a 3rd grinder to be conveniently kept by the stove "for the cook's use." The two saucers are made of Oregon myrtlewood.
